Professional and Personable

Jason Payan

CPA, Partner

Jason specializes in income tax planning, research and structuring for corporations, partnerships, and individuals. In the last 25 years he has served clients in the areas of Professional Service Providers, Real Estate, Restaurant Operations, and Gaming. He has six years public accounting experience in Big 4 Public Accounting and is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Masters in Taxation. Additionally, he is a member of the Nevada Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Melissa Payan

CPA, Partner

Melissa has worked in the public and private accounting sectors for over 25 years, specializing in income tax preparation for individuals and businesses. She also has extensive knowledge of financial statement preparation, budgeting and forecasting, and financial analysis. She has worked on clients in the Real Estate, Manufacturing, Medical and Retail Industries. She started her career at a Big 4 Accounting Firm after graduating from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration.

Dominick Austria

Tax Manager

Dominick received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Prior to Payan & Payan, CPAs, he worked for a Big 4 Accounting Firm. He has worked with clients in the areas of Technology, Real Estate Development, Gaming, Construction, and Hospitality. He specializes in small business and individual taxation which includes tax planning, income tax preparation, entity structuring and tax research. He is a member of the Nevada Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Alba Hall

Tax Manager

Alba works as a Tax Manager at Payan & Payan CPAs, where she handles the preparation and submission of tax returns for individuals, businesses, and various other entities. As a Certified Acceptance Agent, she manages ITIN applications and ensures compliance with FIRPTA for real estate deals involving foreign investors. Originally from Tirana, Albania, Alba holds degrees in Economics and Math from Brigham Young University.

Kellie McFarlane

Accounting Associate

Kellie received her associates degree in accounting from Front Range Community College in Colorado. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Las Vegas, where she has worked as Office Manager and Bookkeeper for various CPA firms as well as several businesses, including automotive, landscaping, and wedding industry. Here at Payan & Payan CPAs, Kellie works as our liaison between clients and office staff ensuring the efficiency of day-to-day office operations. She plays an integral part at cultivating our company culture and making sure that we provide quality service to our clients. Kellie spends her free time enjoying nature and camping with her husband and son.

Jackie Thummel

Office Administrator

Jackie serves as our Office Administrator. She supports our office staff by assisting with all clerical tasks and client needs. Jackie has vast experience working in accounting in various industries, as well as experience in law offices, college business management, and local hospitality. Her dedication to providing followed-through resolutions to the questions and needs of our clients makes her valuable here at Payan & Payan CPAs. She enjoys spending time with her kids, husband, and friends, but loves being a pug mom most of all.
